The Back Story

Picture

Where it started...

Where   we   are   now

Charles started playing music at an early age. His first instrument was guitar, which he played in the middle school jazz band. Fortunately for Charles, he grew up in a neighborhood where all the kids were musically inclined. From as early as 12, he and his friends would challenge each other to play the latest Cameo, Lakeside, Rick James or Prince songs.
At 13 Charles taught himself to play bass and to read bass clef and started playing in the high school jazz band which was reserved for only the top (1st and 2nd chair) students in the band. After the high school Christmas concert, the same year, Charles was approached by the band director of the local college and was offered a scholarship to play bass in their jazz band.
Charles continued to play bass for the school choirs and guitar in local R&B bands.
During these high school years is where Charles learned the basics of recording and arranging. The discovery of creating music himself opened of a world of possibilities for him
After playing with several R&B and Jazz bands in college (where Charles was either the lead singer, guitarist, bassist or keyboard player) he came back home and honed his recording skills. This led to placement of his music in the Major Motion Picture "Constellation" where he also produced and engineered the soundtrack. Charles has provided and produced music for:

-Universal Music Group Artist
-Disilgold (Schomberg Center in Harlem) Producer of the year    for Marc Lacys' Reflux CD

After much urging from a local radio DJ (Erica Fox, WJAB) Charles decided to do his own Album.  This is a long anticipated project and he is very excited to share it with the world.
